Who runs this site

SsnapTik is a free web tool that saves public TikTok posts as MP4, MP3 or images. It is operated independently and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to TikTok or ByteDance. You can reach us at [email protected].

What we process

Only what is needed to turn a link into a file:

• The TikTok link you paste. It is sent to our server so the post can be resolved, and it is held in a short-lived cache described below.
• Your IP address. Used to apply rate limits so one visitor cannot overload the service. It is stored as a one-way hash in a temporary file and expires within about a minute.
• Ordinary server logs. Our hosting provider records requests, as any web server does. We do not combine these with anything else.

We do not ask for, and have no way to collect, your name, email address, phone number, payment details or TikTok account credentials.

What we do not keep

• Your downloads. Files are streamed from TikTok's servers through ours to your device. They are not written to disk and no copy is retained.
• A history. Because there are no accounts, nothing is tied to you and there is no list of what you have saved.
• Advertising profiles. No advertising network runs on this site and nothing is sold or shared with data brokers. The site does use Google Analytics to count visits, which sets two cookies and never receives the links you paste — the Cookie Policy explains exactly what it sees and how to opt out.

How long anything is kept

• Resolved link details (title, author, media addresses) are cached for about 15 minutes so pasting the same link twice is fast, then deleted.
• Rate-limit counters (a hash of your IP and a timestamp) last about 60 seconds.
• Server logs are kept according to our host's retention schedule.

Third parties

Using the tool necessarily involves a few other services:

• The link resolution service receives the TikTok URL you submit in order to look up the post's media addresses.
• TikTok's own content servers supply the video, audio and images. Requests for those files pass through our server, so TikTok does not see your IP address.
• Google Fonts serves the typefaces used on this site. Google receives your IP address as part of that request, as it would for any site using its fonts.
• Google Analytics records which pages are visited so we can see what is used and what is broken. It never receives the links you paste into the downloaders. See the Cookie Policy for the cookies it sets and how to opt out.
• Our hosting provider operates the servers and their logs.

We do not sell, rent or share your information with anyone, because we do not hold information that would identify you.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete personal data an organisation holds about you, and to object to its processing. In practice we hold nothing that identifies you, so there is usually nothing to hand over or erase. If you believe otherwise, write to [email protected] and we will look into it. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Download links are signed by our server and expire if altered, so they cannot be reused to fetch arbitrary files. No system is perfectly secure, but we hold no personal data that would be valuable to an attacker.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Material changes will be described here rather than made quietly.
